Owner Operator: South Kern Industrial, LLC; proposed aerated static pile closed system compost method; 744 total permitted acres, 100 composting acres: heavy industrial/flood hazard, intensive agriculture/flood extensive agricultural/flood hazard, resource management/flood hazard; Proposed Capacity: 670,000 wet tons per year (400,000 organics and 270,000 bulking agents); Proposed Feedstock: Biosolids, pre-consumer food waste, and manure, wood chips, pistachio and almond hulls, screened green; Bulking Agents: waste, stable waste, cotton gin waste, and orchard trimmings; Proposed Daily Tonnage; 5,700 wet tons per day; Proposed Traffic Volume: 354 average vehicles per day; Proposed Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
