Playa Vista Interim Flood Control & Surface Water Quality Basin

Description

California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Playa Capital, LLC. The applicant proposes to alter the streambed and banks to construct a bridge to extend Playa Vista Drive across the Ballona Flood Control Channel in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. The project site is located approximately 0.25 mile northeast of the Lincoln Boulevard bridge crossing Ballona Channel. Construction of the bridge is a mitigation requirement for significant impacts to traffic associated with the Playa Vista Phase I development project. The 88-foot wide bridge will accommodate two traffic lanes, a bike path and sidewalk in each direction. The channel's banks are constructed levees lined in concrete or gunite on the upper portion and grouted stone on the lower portion. The channel bottom is unvegetated and exposed during low tide. The project is located in the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County, California.
