Document Description
The Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to authority granted under Business and Procession Code, Section 26012, approved a Specialty Indoor commercial cannabis license approved on 6/24/2024 by Nug Labs, LLC. The Project will consist of an existing single-story commercial building. The existing building is approximately 7,743 square feet and will be comprised of 5,693 square feet of cultivation, 169 square feet of distribution/transportation, and approximately 1,881 square feet of office and break room, bathroom, and other ancillary space. There are a number of improvements proposed to the site including the addition of a new handicap space, new trash enclosure, loading area, new asphalt paving, and restriping of the westerly parking area. The applicant is proposing to repaint the building with a tan base color and dark brown accent band. A corrugated metal screen wall will be installed on the roof screening the mechanical equipment from the public right-of-way.

Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is a Class 1 Categorical Exemption project. Class 1 Categorical Exemptions consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alterations to existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination. None of the exceptions to this exemption defined in Section 15300.2 apply.
