Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes improvements to Interstate 205 (I-205) in San Joaquin County at postmile 7.987, to allow industry standard-sized trucks in compliance with the Surface Transportation Assistance Act (STAA), to have access to eastbound I-205 off-ramp to southbound MacArthur Drive. The current interchange does not allow STAA trucks to make a right-turn without encroaching onto the existing dike and running against the signal pole mast arm on the southwest corner of the eastbound I-205 ramps and MacArthur Drive intersection. The scope of work for this project is to modify the width of raised concrete center median. The purpose of this project is to improve the I-205 ramps and MacArthur Drive so that STAA trucks passing can be accommodated. The project is needed to provide a roadway that is easier to maneuver for all users.
