Slootman-Tan New Multiple Use Pier (Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. PLA-35148-R2)

The project consists of the construction of a new two hundred ninety-two-point six (292.6) foot long multiparcel use pier, and enhancement of fish habitat associated with the pier, on Lake Tahoe. The pier causeway will be one hundred- and seventy-two-point six (172.6) feet in length by ten (10) feet in width and supported by thirty-four (34) ten point seven five (10.75) inch diameter steel tube pilings. The associated pierhead will be one hundred twenty (120) feet in length by fifteen (15) feet in width. The pier will support three (3) six-thousand-pound (6,000) boat lifts and two (2) forty-five (45) foot long by three (3) foot wide catwalks. The overall project will be limited to the following activities: 1) Placement of a turbidity curtain around the project site. 2) Driving thirty-four (34), ten point seven five (10.75) inch diameter tubular steel pilings to support the pier causeway. 3) Driving ten (10), twelve (12) inch diameter tubular steel pilings to support the pier head. 4) Driving three (3) “I” beam pilings adjacent to the pierhead to support the three (3) boatlifts. 5) Fish habitat enhancement within the general area of the pier will be carried out through the placement of three (3) cobble pyramids each at sixteen (16) square feet constituting a total of fortyeight (48) square feet of graded cobble over a gravel substrate. All cobble and rock will be clean washed and similar in size and nature to native rock present on site. All equipment access to the site will be from Lake Tahoe by means of amphibious vehicle or using barge mounted equipment, including a barge mounted pile driver.
