Document Description
The District is proposing to perform maintenance, repair work and minor improvements at the existing Bradt Reservoir facilities to include removal, replacement, and rehabilitation of asphalt concrete access roads and parking areas, construction of approximately 450 lineal feet of concrete masonry unit retaining walls 3 to 4 feet high to mitigate erosion of soil from slopes onto paved areas, minor grading to construct five new paved parking spaces, new concrete curb and gutter along the edge of asphalt pavement, and construction of approximately 900 lineal feet of 3-ft high chain link fencing for safety purposes along the reservoir access road and an open channel drain on the north and east sides of the reservoir. Reasons for Exemption
The proposed maintenance, repair, and minor improvements work qualifies as a “Class 1” categorical exemption for existing facilities, as outlined in Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines. Maintenance and repair of the existing paved access roads and parking lots is consistent with “restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment to meet current standards of public health and safety, unless it was determined that the damage was substantial and resulted from an environmental hazard such as earthquake, landslide, or flood.” Please refer to Attachment A for further details.
