Reasons for Exemption
The City conducted an environmental review which determined that the proposed project, a new master sign program consisting of the replacement and new signs for an existing shopping center, is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, which allows for minor alterations of existing private structures, specifically, Section 15301 (g) which allows for new copy on existing on
and off-premise signs. The proposed project is also exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15302, which allows for replacement or reconstruction of existing structures where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose. No environmental impacts were identified for the proposed project. Additionally, none of the exceptions described in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply.
