Document Description
Conversion of existing community garden to a neighborhood park, changing the General Plan Designation from Open Space to Park, and rezone from Conservation/Open Space to Public Facility. The park would include raised garden planter boxes, open turf, playground equipment, a water fountain/water filling station, picnic tables, benches, trash and recycling receptacles, an accessible walking path, safety features including a 3.5-foot pedestrian barrier fence and 6-foot perimeter fence. The project would result in approximately 0.35 acre of disturbance on the 0.9-acre parcel, including removal of a concrete driveway apron, 0.11 acre of paving for walking paths, removal of up to 8 trees, protection of approx. 20 native trees to remain, the planting of 33 new trees, and infrastructure improvements.
