The project involves performing maintenance and repair activities to restore structural integrity and extend the service life of Pier 12 and fendering systems replacement at Pier 12 and Berths III and IV. The proposed Pier 12 maintenance and repairs includes Platform A deck replacement, underdeck concrete repairs, pile repairs and installation of cathodic protection on 337 piles, and fender system replacement, an upgrade from Type E to Type D systems. The proposed work at Berths III and IV includes fender system replacement, upgrade from Type E to Type C systems, and removal of a barge launch facility that is no longer functional.
