Document Description
This project will improve the conditions for two ironwood trees and one creosote bush near the OWSVRA headquarters that has been circled by an OHV to the point that a ring (or donut) around the plant has been cut. In order to reduce the impacts to these trees, heavy equipment will be used to fill the donut. A water truck will wet the surrounding topsoil and a bulldozer will be used to push the soil into the depression until the area is level with the ground, creating a very gradual gradient. Hand digging will aid these efforts. An interpretive panel will be installed that describes the life cycle and ecological importance of ironwoods. An archaeological and biological monitor will be present at the discretion of the district Archaeologist and/or Environmental Scientist.
