Document Description
Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and
Wildlife has approved the Maxwell Creek Archaeological Protection/Stream Restoration submitted by St. Supery, Inc. The Project includes restoring approximately 210 linear feet of streambank and riparian area by stabilizing the bank using a combination of %- to %-ton toe rock protection, soil bio-engineering, and native plantings (e.g. willow) and then by removing 125 cubic yards of gravel and mineral materials and vegetation. The new streambank will be graded to a 21 slope above the rock toe and equipped with live willow brush mattresses and live willow wall
revetments. Additionally, a large sand and gravel bar forming in the center of the channel will be removed and used as backfill material behind the toe rock. An approximately 48-inch diameter dead oak tree (i.e. snag) will be removed from the top of bank of the stream to relieve cantilevering weight on the eroded streambank.
