Document Description
The proposed project would construct approximately 71,200 gross square feet (GSF) of new space for multidisciplinary instruction and research in design, innovation and entrepreneurship. The new facility would encourage collaboration and become a "home base" for design and innovation activities which are currently distributed across the campus in different locations. The building would facilitate a range of activities critical to design and innovation, studio learning, collaboration, research, ideation, experimentation, physical making and engagement. A local serving cafe with outdoor seating including tables and chairs would be located on the first floor, and an outdoor area with publicly accessible terrace areas would be located on the second floor which will allow for interior activities to spill out and engage the surrounding landscape/hardscape areas. The building would be located between the Structural and Materials Engineering Building on the west campus south of Voigt Drive and west of Lyman Lane.
