Document Description
The project includes excavation, transportation, and off-site disposal of approximately 600 cubic yards (CY) of soil containing elevated concentrations of organochlorine pesticides (chlordane and dieldrin) at the Parking Lot Expansion for Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School (Site). The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) determined that these removal actions were required to address elevated concentrations of chlordane and dieldrin detected in soil at the Site. This determination was based upon the findings of the Removal Action Workplan (RAW). The RAW included sample results from the Site and selection of the appropriate remedial measures to address the onsite contamination. DTSC is considering approval of the January 2019 RAW, prepared by Padre Associates, Inc., pursuant to
the California Health and Safety Code, Title 22, Chapter 6.8.
