Document Description
DFD staff shall remove all vegetation from the surfaces of Del Valle Dam, upstream and downstream. This includes all vegetation from the left abutment groin to the right abutment groin and from crest or top of the dam to the toe, or bottom of the dam. In addition, all vegetation shall be removed within 7.5 feet on both sides of the two piezometer stair trails, located on the western and eastern side of the dam face. Work includes minor erosion repair to the trails around the stairs. Silt and vegetation shall be removed from drainage v-ditches and culverts on all roads from plant entrance to the dam, around the plant, across the dam, and to the Glory Hole building. Roads are approximately 25-30 feet wide and vegetation shall be removed from within a 10 foot buffer that begins at both sides of the road. Vegetation removal will be primarily done with hand tools and/or weed eaters.
