Document Description
Reduce the density of the Monterey Pine Forest at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve to increase understory vegetation diversity, reduce fuels and improve aesthetics. Work will remove young, small Monterey Pine trees in a 36-acre area ranging in size from 1/2 inch to 12 inch in diameter at breast height using chainsaws. The small branches will be chipped and dispersed off-site and the trees will be cut up into logs and burned.
