Document Description
The goal of this project is to move the factory built housing industry in the state from laggards to leaders in energy performance by developing and commercializing the next generation of wall and roof envelope designs. Today factory built homes are not typically associated with superior energy performance. This project's goal is to change the reality and the perception. As with industrialized housing in other parts of the world, factory builders can lead the way to reducing energy use, establishing a model for oters in the home building business to emulate. Specific project objectives include the following: Develop new wall and roof component designs that, from an energy perspective, are high performance, cost effective and add minimally to first cost.
