Document Description
Altex has defined and is developing the Building Energy Efficient Cooling and Heating (BEECH) system, which provides cooling and/or hot water in response to commercial building demand. BEECH's thermal input can be waste heat from commercial heat sources, or can utilitze low-cost solar thermal collectors. The grant will not cause a physical change in the environment or a resonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment because the grant involves engineering and bench-scale testing that will be performed in the existing Altex Technologies offices and labs in Sunnyvale, CA. The full scale demononstration will also be performed inside the Altex laboratory, where there is an existing, permitted hot water boiler.
