The preferred alternative includes a number of measures to rehabilitate and improve the condition of the Generals Highway, including repairs and improvements to address inadequate drainage, slumping, pavement cracking, potholes, and other structural problems. New pullouts and improvements at intersections and parking areas along the highway also are components of the project. If the project is approved, work could start as early as 2014, depending on available funding.
