Document Description
The Central Valley Flood Protection Board in partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers, under the authority of the Sacramento River RM 83.0L at the former Furlan property. The primary objective of the project is to create two nearshore, annually-flooded habitat areas for federal Endangered Species Act listed Chinook salmon, steelhead, and green sturgeon. The project would provide compensation for SRBPP-related effects to listed fish species and aquatic and riparian habitat for future bank protection work. In addition, fulfill the compensation requirements of the 2001 and 2008 biological opinions for section 7 ESA consulation issued by the National Marine Fisheries Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
