The county of San Luis Obispo Department of General Services, Parks Division proposes to construct an approximately 4.4 mile segment of a class 1 and class 2 bike path from the City of San Luis Obispo to the staging area of the existing area of the existing Bob Jones bike path at Ontario Road within the Avila Valley area. The project includes improvements to a staging area at the Octagon Bark parking lot, construction of four bridges and crossings along South Higuera Road. The proposed project is within the Agriculture and Rural Lands land use categories and is located in between the south-western edge of the City of San Luis Obispo, approximately 2,000 feet south of the intersection of South Higuera and Los Osos Valley Road down South Higuera, along San Luis Obispo Creek, Monte Road and Ontario Road.
