Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The Marygold Mutual Water Company existing water treatment system includes a 1,000 gallon per minute and a 2,000 gallon per minute well, with a chlorine injector, two 2-million gallon storage reservoirs, 2 low lift pumps to fill tanks, and three 1000 gallon per minute booster pumps each with 50 HP motors to distribute the water to the system. The Marygold Mutual Water Company is adding two 10-micron cartridge filters for particle filtration and two ion exchange vessels containing resin beads to remove perchlorate (via an ion exchange process). The cartridge filters will be replaced over time, and after many years, the resin beads are removed and regenerated offsite and fresh beads are inserted. These components will be installed in the treatment process before the chlorine is added and are the fifth phase of an overall project that is outlined in the lead agency's environmental document. The Project will provide for the operation and maintenance of these new treatment components and the overall treatment system.
