Document Description
This project involves the burning of brush piles created by the Bureau of Land Management during a Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project. the Project is along McCain Valley Road, which provides access to McCain Valley Recreation Area, in the eastern, rural area of San Diego County. The primary vegetation consists of red shank, scrub oak, pinion pine, mountain toyan, cottonwood, juniper, and chamise. The Bureau of Land Management cut and piled brush 30 ft on each side of the road. Environmental analysis in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act was completed by Bureau of Land Managment for their fuel reduction activities. No additional vegetation will be removed in the project area. Pile burning occur under favorable conditions that minimize smoke impacts.
