Document Description
The Foss Creek Community Restoration Project will improve riparian habitat along 275 linear feet on both sides of Foss Creek in Healdsburg. The project will remove non-native invasive plants, plant native riparian plants, train and educate project volunteers, and install education displays regarding steelhead and how to protect their habitat. Non-native invasive plants that have overtaken the project site include Himalaya blackberry, fennel, sweet pea, palm trees, privet, and firethorn. After the non-native invasive species are removed the area will be replanted with native trees and shrubs, such as black walnut, red willow, red alder, big leaf maple, western spicebush, ninebark, snowberry, and mugwort. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2008-0403-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
