Document Description
This project entails removing un-merchantable sized trees and brush to create an estimated 129 acre modified shaded fuel break as part of a two-phase project. The fuel break will be constructed around the western perimeter of the Grizzly Flat Community Services District Boundary. Treatments will vary in width from approximately 200-500 feet below homes on the west side of Grizzly Flats. No ground disturbing equipment (i.e. bulldozer or excavator pushing soil) will be utilized. The shaded fuel break will be constructed mainly by hand crews utilizing hand tools. Mastication equipment may be used on appropriate slopes leaving chipped residue behind.
