This IS is being prepared for a proposed Removal Action at Sites 3 and 38, the Former Firefighting Protection Training Area (FFPA) and Former Skeet Range (FSR), at Beale AFB. These removal actions are being conducted in compliance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), and Chapter 6.8, Division 20 of the California Health and Safety Code. Beale AFB covers approximately 23,000 acres and is located entirely within Yuba County.
