Document Description
The purpose of the Freshwater Marsh Mitigation of the Butte 70/149/99/191 Highway Improvement Project is to meet the mitigation requirements associated with the upgrading of State Route 149 to a four-lane expressway and construction of interchanges at the existing State Route 70/149 and State Route 99/149 intersections in Butte County, California. To offset the highway improvement project impacts to existing freshwater marsh and mixed riparian habitat, the proposed mitigation project will preserve, enhance, create, restore, and protect for perpetuity a sufficient number of acres as set forth in the issuance of Permit #199700165 through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
