Document Description
VVWD owns and operates groundwater wells containing arsenic at concentrations ranging from 2 ppb to 15 ppb. The District has determined that a combination of blending and treatment will be implemented at two separate treatment sites to meet the new arsenic limit at all entry points to the distribution system. Based on previous studies and subsequent cost information, the District has decided to implement coagulation/filtration (C/F) treatment and blending activities at the District's existing El Evado and Balsam plant sites.
This project will result in the construction of new C/F treatment and water blending facilities at the District's existing Balsam and El Evado plant sites. The project will also result in the installation of underground water pipelines within developed public roads to convey water from existing District wells to the El Evado C/F plant and eventually to the District's water supply system.
