Document Description
Proposal for the surface mining of 72 acres of hillside with granitic materials that will produce aggregate for use in high-strength concrete and asphalt. Mining will take place over a period of approximately 30 years. A total mined volume of 19.25 million cubic yards of rock material is proposed to be excavated and processed on-site resulting in the creation of a 1:1 highwall slope 400 feet high. Reclamation will be accomplished as excavated areas reach finish grade are cleared of equipment and the final reclaimed site will consist of open space and water conservation.
