Document Description
A right-of-entry (ROE) and temporary use permit will be issued to the California Department of Boating and Waterways to conduct test drilling to determine subsurface conditions at the boat launch facilitiesin Brannan Island State Recreation Area. The permit will allow access to the following areas: existing parking area, proposed parking area, existing boat dockproposed day use landing float, and boater day use area. All work conducted withhin the boundaries of the ROWE nd temporary use permit will comply with all State and Federal environmental laws, including but not limited to the Endangered Species Act, CEQA, and Section 5024 of the Public Resources Code. The California Department of General Services will be responsible for all compliance documents and other regultory requirements, including permits. Seasonal work restrictions will avoid impactsto threatened and endangered fish species; location of any elderberry shrubs will be considered when determining boring sites, to reduce potential impacts to the threatened, federally listed Valley elderberry longhorn beetle. A DPR qualified or permitted archeologist will monitor all soil boring operations. DPR District environmental coordinator will be notified at least 72 hours in advance of any work at the proposed site and provided with a copy of all test results.
