The Project includes impacts to streams associated with the construction of two underground water pipelines associated with the U.S. Gypsum Company’s Plaster City Plant.

The Project site is located at two locations (Canal Water Line and Plaster
City Plant Replacement Water Pipeline) in unincorporated western Imperial County. The 4.8-mile-long Canal Water Line crosses unnamed tributaries to Coyote Wash, a tributary to the Salton Sea. The Canal Water Line is located between United States Gypsum Company’s (USG) Plaster City Plant and the Imperial Irrigation District (IID)
Westside Main Canal. The westernmost 3.0 miles of the Canal Water Line alignment is located parallel to, and approximately 75 feet north of, the centerline of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. At Dunaway Road, the alignment runs north along the east side of the road a short distance before turning east and continuing along the south side of West Evan Hewes Highway (Imperial County Route S80) to the Westside Main Canal
