Document Description
The project site is located at the intersection of Madrone Avenue and Washoe Creek approximately 900 feet east of Stony Point Road, in the City of Cotati, Section 27, Township 6 N, Range 8 W, in Sonoma County. Pacific Gas and Electric Company proposes to directional bore (HDD) under Washoe Creek to install a 12-inch steel natural gas line that will replace an old 8-inch gas main. There will be approximately 624 feet of 12-inch transmission pressure (TP) installed at a minimum of 15 feet under the creek. The entrance bore pit is located on the west side of the creek, approximately 270 feet from the creek, and the exit bore pit is on the east side of the creek, approximately 310 feet from the creek. Both the entrance and exit bore pits are in the middle of Madrone Avenue. At the time of the field visit, June 13, 2001, there were only small pools of water in the creek with little to no flow. The riparian vegetation consists of a dense canopy of willows, oaks and blackberries. There are several special status species in the area, however the habitat at the work site is marginal. No special status species were observed at the project location during the site visit. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0517 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
