Document Description
The proposed project involves constructing approximately 3,200 linear feet (0.6 mi) of paved, 8-foot wide, Class 1 bicycle path from the entrance to Meeks Bay Resort north to the Sugar Pine State Park boundary. The new trail would tie into an existing bicycle path at that northern point. In some locations, construction of the project would require the excavation of a level trail-way using cut and fill techniques, or the construction of structures designed to support the trail-way. An unnamed drainage crosses the project area near its north end. In that immediate area, the proposed alignment would be located atop existing fill placed over a culvert that conveys drainage flows under SR 89. The proposed project would not require any highway crossings (three driveway crossings would be required). This project is listed within the Environmental Improvements Plan as an air quality and transportation improvement project (#10042).
