The San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board issued a Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certification (Cert. No. R9-2019-0227) to the project applicant to replace the existing 24-inch storm drain that discharges to San Diego Bay with a 24-inch by 48-inch box culvert and U-type headwall in the rip rap revetment along the shoreline of Glorietta Bay on Orange Avenue. The project includes stockpile of rip rap along the adjacent shoreline revetment and temporary placement of a coffer dam so that the new storm drain can be constructed in dry conditions and to protect the adjacent eelgrass habitat.
