Document Description
The Wooden West Addition project will construct an approximately 33,023-gross square foot (gsf), two-story addition along the west side of the existing John R. Wooden Center in the Central zone of the UCLA campus. The Wooden West Addition will be the third addition to the John R. Wooden Center and will adjoin the Men's Gym Staging Building (formerly referred to as Wooden North Addition) recently completed along the north side of the original 1983 structure. The Wooden East Addition, renamed The Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center, was added in 1994. Project design and materials will match the Men's Gym Staging Building and access would be provided from the adjacent service road and from within the existing Wooden Center. The project amends the UCLA Long Range Development plan (LRDP) to transfer 5,200 gsf from the Southwest zone to the Central zone to accommodate the project. Construction is scheduled to begin in Summer 2002 and will last approximately 16 months.
