THE EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT IS PROPOSING A SEISMIC RETROFIT OF THE EXISTING STATE-OWNED BUILDING AT 722/800 CAPITOL MALL TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE DURING A MAJOR EARTHQUAKE. THE PROPOSED RETROFIT WILL CONSIST OF THE ADDITION OF INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR CONCRETE SHEAR WALLS AND/OR EXTERIOR CONCRETE FRAMES.
