THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING; ADDING 414 ACRES TO THE ALREADY EXSISTING REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA A EMINENT DOMAIN AUTHORITY;ADDING TAX INCREMENT AUTHORITY TO THE AMENDMENT II AREA;PROMOTING DIVERSE HOUSING OPPORTUN- ITIES IN THE COMMUNITY;PROVIDING NEW OR EXPANDED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FACILITIES;AND MAKING MINOR TEXT CHANGES TO THE EXISTING REDEVELOPMENT PLAN. THIS EXPANDED AUTHORITY HAS BEEN PROPOSED IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE AGENCY TO PROMOTE NEW DEVELOPMENT AND/OR REHABILITATION EFFORTS AND TO PROVIDE ECONOMIC INCENTIVES.
